But alcohol soon proved to be an issue for Sia as well. Nervous and uncomfortable with the spotlight, she says she’d often drink to get through live performances during her US tour. However, the turning point came for Sia after a September 2010 suicide attempt. “I don’t think it’s fd up childhood [that caused my bi-polar disorder], in my case. I refrain from blaming anything on my parents. What I do think is that I smoked too much pot when I was a kid. I think it fd my brain up,” she revealed to The Howard Stern Show .
